Biography

In 2007, Alexander graduated from Physical Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Russia and started his PhD program in Space Research Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics (MSU SINP). In the same year he started working at MSU SINP as Juniour Researcher. In 2011 he defend PhD theses “The neutron flux, related to the thunderstorm activity in the upper atmosphere” (in Russian: “Поток нейтронов, связанный с грозовой активностью, за пределами атмосферы”). In 2012 he became a winner of the prize for young physicists, established by 23rd European Cosmic Ray Symposium. In the same year he obtained the Fellowship for young scientists (MSU SINP). Alexander has been working at University of California Los Angeles, Department of Earth, Planetary and Space Science as a postdoctoral scholar since November 2012. From October 2015 until July 2022, Alexander held an assistant researcher position. Starting from July 2021 Alexander is an associate researcher.

Core developer, providing maintenance and community support of the Versatile Electron Radiation Belts (VERB) code that is now used by multiple groups in the USA, Germany, UK, Korea, and Brazil. A part of Space Physics Environment Data Analysis Software (SPEDAS) and developer team. Contributor to Data Analysis Software (DAS), The International Radiation Belt Environment Modeling (IRBEM) library, NASA Kamodo package, and to Python in Heliophysics Community (PyHC) project to import every package.
