Hayley Allison

Biography

Hayley graduated from the University of Leicester in 2015 with a MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics. She then began a PhD in Applied Mathematics, hosted jointly by the University of Cambridge and the British Antarctic Survey, in the fall of 2015. During her PhD, Hayley received the Outstanding Student Paper Award from the American Geophysical Union (2017). She successfully defended her PhD thesis, “Understanding how low energy electrons control the variability of Earth’s electron radiation belts” in the summer of 2019, for which she was awarded the runner up Keith Runcorn Thesis Prize from the Royal Astronomical Society. Hayley now works as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral research fellow at GFZ, Potsdam.
